After graduating (Bachelors in Business Economics and Masters in Macroeconomics), I have been active in various policy areas at the government since the early 1980s. First at the Ministry of Finance as a (senior) policy officer, then at the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management in a number of financial and economic management positions. I have been active in the field of sustainable energy since 2007. As project leader of the Energy Innovation Agenda, I was responsible for the creation of an interdepartmental multi-year innovation program (budget € 450 million), which related to the most important energy transition themes.

I then went to work for the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the field of Electric cars, where I was, among other things, the project leader for stimulating the rollout of the public charging infrastructure for electric cars. Subsequently, in the offshore wind energy team I was the project leader for innovation in the field of offshore wind energy and for the tenders for the Hollandse Kust (Dutch Coast) wind farms. It was my job to ensure that through innovation and a good design of the tenders, the deployment of offshore wind energy could take place at the lowest possible costs. .
